We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Product Management Manager - Government Solutions. This role is located in Washington, DC.

The Director, Product Management Manager - Government Solutions is an integral role within our Government Solutions team. It focuses on delivering exceptional program solutions that align with the needs of our federal clients. This position is responsible for defining and executing product strategies, aligning PMO deliverables for federal programs, driving innovation and enhancing client experiences—not just strategically but in the day‑to‑day operations. Leveraging deep federal practice knowledge and technical expertise, the Director ensures that the design and delivery of government solutions align with BNY's commitment to operational excellence and client‑centric services, contributing to the organization's strategic pillars of growth, operational efficiency, and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Product Management function for a business unit and oversee the full complement of products within a key segment, including overall PMO functions within federal programs.
• Serve as a single leader on one or many U.S. federal government contracts, driving application development, process design, architecture, and general delivery outcomes.
• Establish the strategic approach for the development of a variety of products, services, and product lines, working with senior leaders to ensure functional strategies tie to business unit objectives.
• Guide staff in building the business case for firm offerings in the marketplace, ensuring the team stays abreast of competitive landscape and industry environment.
• Determine key products of strategic importance to the firm and set long‑term goals for the function in collaboration with senior leaders.
• Take responsibility for the growth and profitability of all federal products.
• Manage the product life cycle from development through marketing.
• Evaluate suggested areas for enhancement or new/innovative features and determine the most viable options to pursue.
• Oversee a complex environment of security, delivery, engineering, operational, and PMO workstreams, delivering outstanding results to federal clients.
• Ensure implementation across all global products.
• Determine overall strategic positioning and targeted client segments for all products.
• Collaborate with peer managers in Relationship Management, Business Development, Account Management, and Marketing teams to deliver on sales and market share goals.
• Ensure all subordinate work aligns with required government compliance, contracting, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist staff in navigating risk, legal, or compliance requirements.
• Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff, maximizing individual contribution, professional growth, and teamwork.
• Provide critical feedback and manage multiple teams.
• Achieve functional objectives that reflect and support business unit objectives.
• Manage the financial and human resources for the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; an advanced/graduate degree is preferred.
• 12+ years of total work experience, with at least 3–5 years in management preferred.
• Securities or financial services experience is preferred.
• Extensive experience running government contracts and government programs is required.
