Position Summary

Position manages and supervises daily operations of pharmacy, ensuring current licensure/registrations and supervising preparation/distribution of medications (including clinical trial medications) and maintenance of patient profiles.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Staffs and schedules pharmacy personnel. Supervises pharmacy staff, including discipline and adherence to policies and procedures. Develops and maintains a department policy and procedure manual for the pharmacy. Interviews and hires all pharmacy staff; conducts performance evaluations of all pharmacy staff, including merit increases and wage adjustments. Oversees pharmacy drug budget, establishes drug formulary, and reviews drug purchasing contracts. Oversees accurate billing of pharmaceuticals through charge reports generated by pharmacy. Supervises accurate preparation/labeling of medications in ensuring proper techniques/supplies are utilized in preparation of IV admixtures. Oversees pharmacy compliance with clinical trials and sponsors, including FDA, CALGB, NSABP, and RTOG. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, securing/renewing licenses and registrations as required. Provides physicians/staff/patients with appropriate information concerning therapeutic actions, interactions, adverse effects, and formulary status of medications. Participates in continuing education programs and pharmacy-related programs as required for license renewals and to maintain updated service.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree - Pharmacy Certifications/Professional Licenses: The list below may include all acceptable certifications, professional licenses and issuers. More than one credential, certification or professional license may be required depending on the role. Pharmacist - Missouri Board of Pharmacy, Pharmacist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration, Registered Pharmacist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Work Experience: Pharmacy (5 Years), Supervisory (2 Years) Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Pharm.D. - Doctor of Pharmacy Certifications/Professional Licenses: No additional certification/professional licenses unless stated elsewhere in the job posting. Work Experience: Oncology Pharmacy (5 Years) Skills: Cytotoxicity, Detail-Oriented, IV Admixture, Oncology Pharmacy, Pharmacy Management, Pharmacy Practice, Sound Judgment

Grade & Salary Range

Grade S35 Salary Range $135,600.00 - $244,000.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
