Job Summary:

The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC) at the University ofColorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an accomplishedclinician-scientist and leader for an open rank faculty position atthe Associate or Professor rank. This position includes anadministrative appointment as Pediatric Diabetes Director andrepresents a unique opportunity to lead the nation's premierpediatric diabetes programs within one of the largestdiabetes-focused institute in the world.

The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized leader inpediatric diabetes care, research, and program development with a demonstrated commitment to advancing clinical excellence,innovation, education, and discovery. The Pediatric DiabetesDirector will provide strategic and operational leadership for theBDC Pediatric Diabetes Division, overseeing clinical care delivery,faculty and staff development, research growth, and educationalprograms while fostering a collaborative culture focused onimproving outcomes for children and adolescents withdiabetes.

The Pediatric Diabetes Director will serve as the primary leaderfor pediatric diabetes programs at the Barbara Davis Center,guiding the continued growth of a nationally recognized clinicaland academic enterprise. This leader will work closely withfaculty, trainees, BDC leadership, hospital leadership, andcommunity partners to advance innovative models of care, expandclinical and translational research, strengthen educationalprograms, and enhance the national reputation of the Barbara DavisCenter.

The Barbara Davis Center is internationally recognized forexcellence in type 1 diabetes research and care. More than 220clinicians, scientists, and staff work together to advanceprevention, treatment, and cures for diabetes throughgroundbreaking research, comprehensive clinical care, andworld-class education. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the PediatricDiabetes Division's clinical, research, educational, and communityoutreach missions.
• Develop and implement a long-term vision that advance theDivision's national leadership in pediatric diabetes care,research, and innovation.
• Recruit, mentor, retain, and develop outstanding faculty,advanced practice providers, and staff while fostering a culture ofcollaboration, accountability, professionalism, andinclusion.
• Supervise faculty, clinical, educational, and administrativepersonnel.
• Serve as the primary liaison for diabetes care betweenChildren's Hospital Colorado and the Barbara Davis Center (20%effort).
• Partner with BDC, University of Colorado School of Medicine,and Children's Hospital Colorado leadership to align priorities andachieve strategic goals.
• Direct the organization, quality, and delivery of outpatientpediatric diabetes care at the BDC.
• Advance innovative models of care that improve patientoutcomes, access, efficiency, patient experience, and populationhealth.
• Foster growth of clinical, translational, andinvestigator-initiated diabetes research programs.
• Support faculty in obtaining and sustaining extramural fundingand developing collaborative research initiatives.
• Provide leadership for pediatric diabetes education programsand participate in oversight of the jointly funded PediatricEndocrinology Fellowship Program.
• Serve as the ambassador for the Barbara Davis Center andUniversity of Colorado nationally and internationally.
• Cultivate productive relationships with philanthropic partners,advocacy organizations, and community stakeholders.
• Provides oversight to Division's Clinical and ResearchDirectors.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located inAurora, Colorado.

This is an open rank , open track position and could be categorizedas Associate Professor or Professor based on experience andqualifications as indicated below:

Associate Professor:

• MD or MD/PhD degree
• Board Certification in Pediatrics and PediatricEndocrinology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Colorado.
• Record of scholarly achievement consistent with appointment atthe Associate Professor rank.
• Demonstrated success in clinical program development, qualityimprovement, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams
• Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship and sustained researchproductivity.
• Experience mentoring faculty, trainees, and juniorinvestigators.

Professor:

• MD or MD/PhD degree
• Board Certification in Pediatrics and PediatricEndocrinology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Colorado.
• Record of scholarly achievement consistent with appointment atthe Associate Professor rank.
• Demonstrated success in clinical program development, qualityimprovement, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience directing a pediatric diabetes program, division,center, or clinical service.

• Demonstrated engagement with philanthropy, donor relations, orinstitutional advancement activities.
• Experience partnering effectively with hospital andhealth-system leadership.

• Associate Professor: $200,000 - $225,000 ( or hiring range )
• Professor: $225,000 - $275,000 ( or hiring range )
• Pediatric Division Director Stipend: $50,000 ( or hiring range )
