Director of NAMER Payroll Operations

The Global Payroll and Employment Tax team is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and tenured Director of NAMER Payroll Operations who will be responsible for leading the payroll operations team through the end‑to‑end execution of payroll. This person will work closely with the Payroll Employment Tax team as well as other cross‑functional stakeholders to drive the payroll strategy and ensure payroll is executed accurately and on time.

The role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA and operated on a hybrid model, combining work from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Senior Director, Global Payroll & Employment Tax
  • Lead the NAMER payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely processing, in accordance with company policies and local tax and labour regulations.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the NAMER Payroll Operations team.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and year‑end statements are issued per local legislation.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders within the HRIT/Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Finance, and other related organizations to ensure optimization of the end‑to‑end payroll input and output processes.
  • Ensure the proper processing and reporting of salary, equity, bonuses, and benefits and taxes at employee, agency, and enterprise level.
  • Manage 3rd party relationships with our payroll providers.
  • Manage the preparation of relevant management quarterly business reviews, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and payroll metrics.
  • Optimize standard procedures for payroll processing, ensuring strong internal and SOX controls and segregation of duties.
  • Ensure best practices for regular audits of earnings, payroll taxes, and annual reporting are performed and are effective to avoid any potential errors or compliance risk.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for cross‑functional projects impacting payroll operations.
  • Govern and maintain internal controls in accordance with SOX and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements.
  • Ensure policies and procedure manuals are up to date and maintained by payroll personnel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years in accounting, finance, or payroll operations
  • 5+ years in people leadership, managing direct reports and teams of 5+

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, or related discipline
  • Familiar with ADP payroll platforms, including ADP Global View and ADP Streamline a plus.
  • Expertise in the end‑to‑end US/CA payroll process and elevated level of understanding of general business operations and internal control concepts; ability to assess and provide input into impact of a business process / system change.
  • Ability to think strategically and act operationally; have strong personal impact and resilience and ability to influence and persuade.
  • Excellent customer and employee experience focus.
  • Team player, flexible, and ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Have worked with a remote and geographically dispersed team.
  • Familiarity with business practices and cultures across multiple international regions.
  • Demonstration of successful interaction with cross‑functional business partners.
  • Managed under Service Level Agreement (SLA), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics and monitoring for in scope activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation (or similar) a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $158,000 to $258,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans. For more information, visit
