This Director, Strategic Finance & Analytics is responsible for delivering exceptional results for middle-market clients across diverse industries. The Director, OCFO will report directly to the OCFO Practice Line Leader and will advise C-suite executives, optimize financial processes and implement data-driven strategies to support business growth. You will support key initiatives, manage discrete workstreams and work closely with senior leaders.

If you thrive in a high-performance culture and want to help build the future of a rapidly growing consultancy, this is the right role for you.Responsibilities Lead end-to-end client engagements and provide financial advisory services, including controllership operations, procure-to-pay (PTP), order-to-cash (OTC), record-to-report (RTR) processes, audit readiness and preparation, finance function integration or carveout standup, transaction due diligence and technical accounting mattersProvide strategic and technical compliance guidance with ASC 606, ASC 842 and other complex accounting standardsDevelop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality, tailored solutions and providing proactive strategic adviceProvide recommendations to clients on ways to leverage Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) and close process and consolidation tools to more effectively and rapidly track business performance and improve controlsDevelop and deploy scalable processes, methodologies and analytical solutions which result in step-function improvements to middle market OCFO functionsLeverage financial expertise and project management skills, including a deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and S-X regulatory compliance to support clients in navigating diverse financial accounting and reporting considerations related to transactionsSupport multiple concurrent engagements to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clients (sponsors, lenders and management teams)Advise clients through complex transactional and operational situations, including mergers, acquisitions and carveouts, operating model transformations, selling / buying the business, technology implementations, etc.Begin to originate revenue through cultivation of network and leadership in the Portage Point coverage modelProvide coaching and mentorship to junior team membersSupport internal trainings and best practice sharingSupport business development and client relationship effortsSupport talent acquisition and firm-building initiativesContribute to a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven cultureQualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CFA, CA) preferredLocated in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Palm Beach or PhiladelphiaInvested in a team-based culture, motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed10 plus years of progressive experience in financial consulting, advisory services or auditExperience in the role of controllership, finance and accounting advisory servicesComplete proficiency in financial modeling and financial statements analysis as well as accounting treatmentsProficiency in financial technologies and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Blackline, Floqast, etc.)Bias towards and track record of leveraging technology and automation solutions (Power BI / Tableau, Power Automate, UI Path, Automation Anywhere) to drive business process efficiencyStrong technical accounting expertise, including experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skillsProven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teamsHigh attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindsetTrack record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments$500,000 - $750,000 a yearIn accordance with pay transparency laws in the City of New York and the State of California, Portage Point provides a good-faith cash compensation range for this position. This range represents the cash compensation (base plus bonus) that the firm reasonably expects to pay upon hire, based on good-faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The final compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, education, training, experience and location. In addition to cash compensation, Portage Point may offer comprehensive benefits and equity participation, which are not reflected in the pay range above. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
