Director of Structural Heart

Northwell Health's Department of Cardiology is seeking a Director of Structural Heart to join the Northwell Cardiovascular Institute at Danbury Hospital, Connecticut. This role involves clinical activities, leadership, operations, and academic pursuits within a tertiary center providing comprehensive cardiovascular care. The ideal candidate will contribute to a multidisciplinary team committed to superior clinical outcomes and personalized treatment plans for patients across Western Connecticut and beyond.

• Danbury Hospital is a tertiary center providing comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
• State-of-the-art facilities house advanced diagnostic capabilities, including advanced echocardiography, CT, and MRI.
• Performs complex coronary interventions and advanced structural heart procedures, including TAVR, MitraClip, and an evolving tricuspid program.
• Electrophysiology team manages complex arrhythmias, including ablation therapies, device implantations, and left atrial appendage occlusion.
• Cardiothoracic surgery program provides the full spectrum of care, including complex mitral valve and aortic surgery.
• Care is delivered by highly skilled, multidisciplinary teams committed to superior clinical outcomes and personalized treatment plans for each patient across Western Connecticut, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Establish clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for structural heart interventions.
• Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and procedures.
• Lead multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case selection conferences.
• Monitor quality metrics and clinical outcomes, including oversight of data collection and submission to national registries.
• Recruit and retain specialized structural heart team members.
• Provide leadership and training opportunities for support staff.
• Develop strategic plans for program growth, expand referral networks, and collaborate with marketing on promotion and outreach.
• Promote and enhance all aspects of the academic mission, including training and education as well as innovation and research.

Compensation

• Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity.
• An academic appointment with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with credentials and experience.

Requirements

• Board-certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
• Specialized training in structural heart.
• Minimum of 5 years of post fellowship experience.
