Director of State Advocacy

To strengthen advocacy capabilities across domestic sites, the full-time salaried Director of State Advocacy will analyze policy landscapes, develop advocacy tools, and build partnerships to advance solutions for youth homelessness and related social issues in a fully remote environment. Key responsibilities Monitor and analyze state and local legislative developments affecting youth homelessness and related social determinants of health Design and implement capacity-building strategies for advocacy across various sites, enhancing local advocacy plans Serve as a thought partner and collaborate with site leaders and external partners to support effective advocacy initiatives Required qualifications Minimum 7 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or related fields Demonstrated experience in supporting policy implementation and advocacy initiatives at state and local levels Significant knowledge of at least one major social determinant of health policy domain Familiarity with federal legislative processes and their interaction with state and local systems Experience working with nonprofit organizations and navigating politically diverse environments
