Position Overview

Annapolis Area Christian School is seeking a Director of Sports Performance to lead strength and conditioning, speed and agility, and injury prevention for high school and middle school athletes. This position will oversee 1-2 strength & conditioning coaches, coordinate with varsity head coaches, and report directly to the Director of Athletics. Our facilities include a large weight room, lockers, and outdoor training areas.

This is a year‑round position. Summer hours are 7:30 am–11:30 am, Monday through Thursday. School‑year hours are approximately 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Some holiday hours are required.

This role focuses on building a clear, aligned program that emphasizes player development and discipleship through sport, specifically strength and conditioning. The Director works with every student‑athlete, supports all athletic coaches and their programs, and fosters a collaborative departmental culture.

Must have a bachelor’s degree and either an NCSF CSC or NSCA CSCS certification.
Must have experience coaching multiple teams; small group or private training experience is a positive but does not meet the minimum requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a clear training and development structure across grades 6–12.
  • Build relationships with players, coaches, and staff.
  • Partner with high‑school coaches for program‑specific training needs.
  • Organize and implement weight‑room procedures, track attendance, and maintain accountability.
  • Communicate proactively with Athletic Training staff and Program Coaches about injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Direct and organize off‑season training within the athletic‑department schedule.
  • Lead and support sports‑performance staff; create schedules that support and maximize staff availability.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience coaching or leading sports‑performance programs across multiple age groups and levels of development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships within a school community.
  • Committed to mentorship and Christian discipleship.
  • Interested in long‑term program development.
  • Strong network of resources in the strength and conditioning community.

This position will start as soon as possible to ensure onboarding is completed before the summer. The first official student‑athlete training will begin on June 15.
