SkyBridge Luxury & Associates is conducting a confidential search for a dynamic Director of Sales to lead the sales efforts for a dual-property hotel complex in the greater Los Angeles area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on hotel sales leader who enjoys being in the market, developing new business, building client relationships, and leading a highly proactive sales team. The Director of Sales will oversee a team of sales professionals while remaining personally engaged in driving revenue across corporate business travel, group, catering, and crew segments.
The ideal candidate will bring experience within branded select-service or full-service hotels and understand the pace and sales strategy required to drive performance across multiple properties. Previous dual-property, complex, cluster, or multi-property experience is highly desirable. This could also be an excellent next step for a strong Associate Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager ready to move into a Director role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team while fostering a proactive, accountable, and results-driven sales culture
- Personally prospect, negotiate, and close key corporate, group, catering, and crew business
- Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize topline revenue, RevPAR, and market share
- Maintain an active presence in the local market through outside sales calls, client visits, networking, and new account development
- Lead proactive prospecting efforts and utilize sales tools, reports, and market intelligence to uncover new business
- Drive corporate business travel, including account development and RFP strategy
- Identify and secure crew business, including RFPs, site inspections, negotiations, and contract execution
- Partner closely with Revenue Management on rate, occupancy, business mix, and RevPAR strategies
- Collaborate with field marketing and external partners on promotions, activations, social media, and other demand-generating initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, meeting planners, travel partners, and key local clients
- Provide regular sales performance reporting and strategic updates to ownership
- Maintain consistent accountability around proactive sales activity, pipeline development, conversion, and revenue production
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of hotel sales experience with demonstrated success in a competitive market
- Previous experience as a Director of Sales, Associate/Assistant Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager, or comparable hotel sales role
- Strong background in corporate business travel and group sales, with exposure to catering and crew business highly desirable
- Experience within a nationally recognized hotel brand strongly preferred
- Dual-property, complex, cluster, or multi-property experience is highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead and develop a sales team while remaining actively engaged in direct selling and new business development
- Strong understanding of hotel revenue strategy and the relationship between sales activity, rate, occupancy, and RevPAR
- Experience with RFPs, site inspections, contract negotiations, prospecting, and account development
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Energetic, visible, and results-driven leadership style with a genuine passion for sales
