Director of Retail Banking

We are currently working with community bank in Bucks County who is looking to add a Director of Retail Banking to their team. The Director of Retail Banking is responsible for the strategic leadership, growth, and operational performance of the bank's retail banking division, including branch network management, deposit and consumer loan growth and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the retail banking strategic plan, including branch footprint, product mix, and channel strategy (in-branch, digital, call center)
• Lead, coach, and develop regional/district managers and branch managers across the network
• Set sales culture, performance standards, and incentive structures for branch teams
• Oversee retail product development and pricing in partnership with product and marketing teams
• Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all retail channels; monitor and act on customer satisfaction metrics (NPS, complaints, etc.)
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit to ensure retail operations meet regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA/AML, Reg CC, Reg E, fair lending, UDAAP)
• Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and local market opportunities to inform branch expansion, consolidation, or renovation decisions
• Collaborate with Marketing on retail campaigns, community engagement, and brand positioning
• Report retail performance, trends, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership and the Board as needed
• Champion digital adoption and process efficiency initiatives to modernize the retail experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required
• 7+ years of progressive retail banking leadership experience, including multi-branch or regional oversight
• Proven track record of P&L ownership and driving deposit/loan growth
• Strong knowledge of retail banking products, regulatory environment, and branch operations
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across a distributed network
• Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with retail banking technology platforms and digital banking trends
