About the Opportunity
We are representing multiple privately owned, highly respected commercial General Contractors seeking experienced Directors of Preconstruction to join their growing teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
These are leadership-level opportunities for construction professionals who can oversee the full preconstruction process, develop strong client relationships, and help drive successful projects from initial concept through construction.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee all preconstruction activities from conceptual design through project buyout.
- Manage estimating, budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, constructability reviews, and bid procurement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Lead preconstruction meetings and communicate project strategy, budgets, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Review plans, specifications, scopes, and project requirements to identify potential issues and cost-saving opportunities.
- Establish and maintain project budgets and provide accurate cost estimates throughout the design process.
- Lead and mentor preconstruction/estimating team members.
- Partner closely with Project Management and Operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into construction.
- Assist with business development efforts, client presentations, proposals, and pursuit strategies.
- Help develop and improve preconstruction processes, systems, and best practices.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction as the company continues to grow.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of commercial construction experience , with significant experience in preconstruction and estimating.
- Previous experience in a Senior Preconstruction Manager, Preconstruction Director, Chief Estimator, or similar leadership position .
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, pricing, scheduling, and constructability.
- Experience leading complex commercial projects from conceptual budgeting through GMP/buyout.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work directly with owners and design teams.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design partners.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing preconstruction/estimating professionals.
- Proficiency with construction estimating and project management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Opportunity
- $175,000-$225,000 base salary , depending on experience.
