Intermountain Health is seeking a dynamic Director of Place-Based Investments to lead innovative investment strategies that improve community health outcomes while generating responsible financial returns. Reporting to the Vice President of Community Health with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief Investment Officer, this leader will oversee Intermountain's place-based investment portfolio and help address social determinants of health across the communities we serve.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategy, development, and growth of Intermountain's place-based investment program.
- Identify and evaluate investment opportunities that improve community well-being while delivering financial returns.
- Build partnerships with community organizations, financial institutions, CDFIs, and other impact investors.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Legal, Philanthropy, and Community Health leaders to align investments with organizational priorities.
- Oversee due diligence, risk assessment, governance, and portfolio performance.
- Educate executive leaders and boards on investment strategies, outcomes, and community impact.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong financial, strategic planning, and relationship management experience.
- Proven ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups and drive complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree.
- Leadership experience in banking, finance, impact investing, or community development finance.
- Experience managing investment portfolios with measurable social and financial returns.
- 10+ years of place-based or impact investing experience.

Location
Preferred in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Candidates located within Intermountain markets in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, or Nevada may be considered. Remote candidates should be able to travel regularly to Utah.
Eligible for Intermountain's Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) incentive program. Sign-on and relocation assistance may be available.
