Director of Palliative and Pediatric Care
Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois. They provide exceptional serious illness care, hospice care and grief support for adults and children, primarily in the home, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and through a 24-bed inpatient facility in Joliet.
Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Lightways employs 250 staff and serves more than 35,000 patients since its inception. They focus on quality care and support for patients and families with a dedicated team of skilled professionals.
Role
The Director will lead and support the Pediatric and Adult Serious Illness programs and Pediatric Hospice care. Responsibilities include managing program operations, overseeing quality of care, revenue, and productivity, supervising nurse practitioners and social workers, maintaining referral relationships, driving program development, and ensuring patient satisfaction.
As Director, you will promote Lightways’ culture of quality patient care, compassion, accountability, and collaboration, while mentoring staff and defining best practice standards for palliative and pediatric care.
You will collaborate with the COO and Executive Management Team to develop strategic analyses for business opportunities, growth, and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or another clinical discipline required.
- Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or related field required.
- Minimum five years of clinical leadership experience in palliative care and/or pediatric hospice.
- Demonstrated results in business planning and growth, operating performance, quality and process improvement, and leading teams.
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
