Director of Operations

We’re hiring a strategic and results-driven Director of Retail Operations II to lead multi-unit retail operations at Tucson International Airport, AZ . This role oversees a portfolio generating $6–10M in annual revenue, with full accountability for sales growth, profitability, operational excellence, and employee engagement. As a key leader, you will partner with senior leadership, landlords, brand partners, and joint venture stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences while driving business performance across multiple retail locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own full P&L accountability, partnering with senior leadership to set and achieve revenue, expense, and profitability targets
• Analyze KPIs, identify performance drivers, and implement strategic action plans to meet or exceed business goals
• Lead and develop management teams through coaching, performance management, and talent decisions (hiring, promotion, succession planning)
• Ensure consistent execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through audits, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Oversee retail operations including inventory management, merchandising, receiving, and vendor coordination
• Maintain strong relationships with landlords, brand partners, and DBE/ACDBE stakeholders
• Drive employee engagement through recognition, coaching, and inclusive leadership practices
• Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Marketing teams to optimize assortments and promotional strategies
• Monitor financial and operational performance, collaborating with leadership and finance partners on strategic decisions
• Maintain compliance with brand standards, lease agreements, CBAs, and operational policies
• Lead visual merchandising, planogram execution, and customer experience initiatives
• Implement innovative revenue-driving strategies and monitor market trends and consumer behavior
• Ensure proficiency across systems (POS, CrunchTime, Kronos, MIV, etc.) and operational tools

What You Bring

• 8+ years of retail operations experience, including:
• 3+ years in a leadership role managing multi-unit operations
• Strong expertise in multi-unit retail, merchandising, and inventory management
• Proven experience driving results through KPIs and financial performance (P&L ownership)
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and translate insights into action
• Experience in travel retail or multi-brand environments preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
