Director of Operations

Director, Operations | Alternative Investment Manager | Summit, NJ

We are partnering with a ~$3B alternative investment manager seeking a Director of Operations to join its team in Summit, NJ. The firm invests opportunistically across public and private markets and offers a highly collaborative environment with direct exposure to the COO and senior leadership.

This is a broad, high-impact role spanning fund operations, technology, vendor management, operational risk, compliance support, and firm-wide infrastructure. The Director will help oversee private fund operations and new vehicle launches while also playing a key role in evaluating systems, driving automation and AI initiatives, managing critical vendors, and improving processes across the platform.

The ideal candidate will have 5–15 years of operations experience within a hedge fund, private equity firm, or alternative asset manager, with a strong understanding of fund structures and middle/back-office operations. Experience managing technology implementations, vendors, operational projects, or firm-wide initiatives is particularly valuable.
