Director of Operations

A growing construction & flooring company based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is seeking a Director of Operations to lead day-to-day operations across a portfolio of commercial and multifamily projects.

This leadership role is ideal for somebody already working within operations management in the construction & flooring industry and looking for a new chapter.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of operations, from strategic planning and supply chain management to project execution and customer satisfaction. Working closely with project managers, field supervisors, installers, and office staff, you will ensure projects are completed efficiently while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The role is responsible for driving operational excellence and will involve working both on-site with regular site visits. This is not a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth.
• Oversee procurement, supplier relationships, logistics, and inventory management.
• Lead multiple commercial and multifamily projects, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule targets are achieved.
• Manage, mentor, and develop field and office teams.
• Improve operational processes, communication, material control, and project workflows.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by proactively resolving issues and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, building codes, and company safety standards.
• Track operational KPIs, analyze performance data, and provide strategic reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within the construction or flooring industry.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, project management, and quality control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive process improvements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using project management software and other operational tools.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and workplace safety standards.
