Fractional Senior Director of Operations

A pre-launch, better-for-you beverage company is seeking a hands-on Fractional Senior Director of Operations to build the operational infrastructure needed to launch and scale the business. This individual will partner directly with the Founder and serve as a team of one, balancing strategic planning with detailed execution.

Responsibilities

• Build operational processes from the ground up ahead of launch.
• Select, onboard, and manage a 3PL partner.
• Coordinate production and logistics across the co-manufacturer, customs broker, and 3PL.
• Establish inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and production-planning processes.
• Develop fulfillment workflows for foodservice, DTC, distributors, and future retail partners.
• Create practical tools, reporting, and documentation in Excel.

Candidate Profile

• Required: Experience supporting a pre-launch CPG company through commercialization.
• Food, beverage, or VMS experience required; natural or better-for-you experience preferred.
• Strong experience with co-manufacturers, 3PLs, inventory planning, forecasting, and fulfillment.
• Comfortable working independently in a lean startup and personally executing the work.
• International importing experience and familiarity with East Coast 3PLs are preferred.

Engagement Details

• Approximately 10–20 hours per week, with hours increasing closer to launch.
• Remote; NYC tri-state area preferred.
• Potential to expand into a full-time position as the business grows.
