Director of Operations – Construction

We are partnered with a leading construction management and development firm seeking a highly skilled Director of Operations to oversee their growing portfolio of projects in the Columbus market and across the region. This is an executive-level leadership role for a strategic, hands-on construction professional with a strong background in operations, team leadership, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight of day-to-day construction operations across multiple project teams.
• Establish and maintain best-in-class processes for project planning, execution, scheduling, and financial management.
• Partner with executive leadership to align operational goals with company growth strategy.
• Mentor, coach, and develop project managers, superintendents, and operational staff to ensure consistent performance and career growth.
• Drive operational excellence, safety, and quality standards across all construction activities.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs to ensure projects meet budget, timeline, and quality benchmarks.
• Serve as a key client-facing leader, building strong relationships with owners, investors, and partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction operations, with proven success in commercial and multifamily projects .
• Strong background in financial and operational management, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire large teams across multiple job sites.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
