Director of Nursing

Position Overview

This position is incentive eligible.

HCA Healthcare's Katy Endoscopy Center in Houston, Texas seeks a Director of Nursing. The role requires high‑quality patient‑centered care oversight, staffing, planning, and budget monitoring with a focus on ambulatory surgery center operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all areas of nursing care
• Establish and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with your Administrator
• Ensure day‑to‑day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and center policies
• Ensure sufficient staffing daily by notifying your team of scheduling changes in a timely manner
• Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided
• Provide staff with breaks, and ensure coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
• Monitor your clinical area to ensure materials are provided for each case in advance
• Facilitate effective and efficient transitions between surgical procedures
• Delegate, coach, mentor, and handle conflict resolution with your team
• Build trust and gain respect of your team through effective leadership and participation skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Minimum 5 years of direct RN experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgical center setting
• Minimum 3 years of clinical supervisory experience
• Experience in OR or PACU preferred
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• Valid BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
• ACLS and PALS as required by facility
• CNOR preferred
