Job Description

The Director of Nursing and Facility Administrator is responsible for overseeing assigned departments and/or facility, ensuring quality patient care, managing resources and operations, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations in a correctional setting. They demonstrate competence in licensed functions, marketing, team building, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned departments and/or facility.
• Ensure quality patient care in assigned areas.
• Manage human resources, materials, and financial resources.
• Execute day-to-day operations of the facility.
• Demonstrate competence with licensed functions, marketing, team building, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Ensure clinical operations comply with security procedures and correctional facility rules.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations governing correctional healthcare services.
• Enforce corporate and facility policies, and develop & enforce department-specific policies.
• Lead customer, employee, and provider satisfaction initiatives within a secure correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the area of responsibility (1 to 3 years of leadership experience preferred).
• RN Licensure in South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement.
• Certification in area of responsibility preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 9 years progressive work experience with 4 years management experience.

Working Conditions

Works in a well-lit, air-conditioned, and heated office environment within a secure correctional institution. May require entry into inmate housing or restricted areas for clinical oversight, rounding, inspections, or operational coordination while maintaining awareness of correctional safety protocols.
