What you'll do:

  • Schedules and oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements
  • Ensures compliance with regulations for skilled nursing facilities
  • Maintains professional relationships with staff, vendors, and inspectors
  • Conducts routine inspections of equipment, systems, and life safety measures
  • Leads facility emergency preparedness drills
  • Manages departmental budget under Administrator direction
  • Engages positively with residents
  • Supervises maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry staff, including hiring support
  • Safely operates hand tools and small power tools
  • Provides staff training on safety, fire protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English; Spanish is a plus
  • Basic management and decision-making skills required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience (healthcare setting preferred)
  • Able to work in varying conditions, including outdoor or confined/unpleasant environments
  • Comfortable with exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-100 lbs. without assistance
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices) to perform duties
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders
