Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Trenton Roadhouse Hospitality Director is a strategic leadership role within Kistler Vineyards responsible for creating and curating exceptional guest experiences at Trenton Roadhouse. This role collaborates closely with all departments within the company to ensure company goals, brand standards and the Kistler Vineyards guest experience are executed and represented at the highest level. This position requires open availability, including weekends and holidays.
GUEST EXPERIENCE & HOSPITALITY
- Host visiting guests and assist others with hosting as needed, ensuring an elevated and engaging guest journey from arrival to departure that reflects the brand’s values.
- Continuously train, mentor, and lead staff to provide exceptional service, emphasizing wine knowledge, guest interaction, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and promptly.
- Oversee and manage guest scheduling, daily itinerary planning, and reservation logistics.
- Book guest tastings via phone and email, ensuring a seamless booking experience.
- Work with the winemaker and assistant winemaker to ensure wines are featured and showcased in the best possible way and to enhance team members’ understanding of individual vineyard sites, regional character, and vintage-to-vintage variations.
- Create and curate new experiences and events that enhance the guest experience and drive engagement.
- Collaborate with the winemaking team and existing culinary partners to offer enhanced food components that align with the wines.
- Ensure employees are following up with guests, entering notes, and sending thank-you notes when appropriate.
- Deeply understand and embody the Kistler Vineyards brand and its long-term growth strategy.
- Analyze guest data and historical trends to identify opportunities for increased revenue within brand guidelines.
- Thoughtfully drive allocation sign-ups and wine sales to new guests and customers.
- Promote customer retention and engagement for existing allocation list members.
OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT
- Maintain vendor billing, communications, and the addition of new vendors and sources.
- Manage the Trenton schedule, including VIP bookings, and anticipate future staffing needs.
- Work with the marketing team regarding printed materials, emails, and other marketing aspects.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor and optimize workflow, coordinating between hosts and housekeeping while stepping in when needed.
- Oversee property improvements and ensure that the estate is consistently presented at its best.
- Assist in cost management and identify efficiencies while maintaining the brand’s high standards.
- Create and build annual budgets along with capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets to ensure financial health and business sustainability.
- Monitor and manage budgets and expenses in line with current business conditions.
COMPLIANCE & SAFETY
Ensure compliance with local and state regulations regarding alcohol service, health, and safety.
Maintain a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Ensure staff is receiving proper training, certificates, and other required credentials.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of luxury hospitality management.
- Experience managing a small team and the ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop employees.
- Keen understanding and hands-on experience with all financial and accounting responsibilities.
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, flexible and able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Highest degree of integrity, with a commitment to excellence and high standards
- Strong management skills.
- Team oriented yet able to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to think creatively and problem solve.
- Ability to maintain a positive \"can do\" attitude.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Kistler Vineyards Peer group and competitive set.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work in a standing and/or walking position for long periods of time.
- Ability to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise, set up and break down structures, tables, etc., and be able to utilize dolly cart or other equipment to move heavy objects.

Kistler Vineyards was established in 1978 and is an iconic, family-owned and operated winery in the Russian River Valley specializing in the production of award-winning, Burgundian-styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Opened in 2014, Trenton Roadhouse is a restored 100+ year-old farmhouse located in the southern end of the Russian River Valley.
