Director of Hospital Medicine

Northwell Health is seeking a Director of Hospital Medicine for Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow. This leadership role involves overseeing and developing a growing hospitalist program, focusing on team and hospital operations, quality, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement within the Division of Hospital Medicine, collaborating closely with hospital and system leadership.

• The hospital serves Westchester County and surrounding communities in Rockland, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties in New York and Fairfield County in Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growing hospitalist program.
• Work with the Chair of Medicine, hospital leadership, and Medicine Service Line leaders to facilitate team and hospital operations, quality, and strategic planning.
• Promote continuous improvement of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
• Regularly participate in and lead key hospital and medical staff committees.
• Develop and maintain continuous quality improvement programs.
• Partner with the Phelps Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Collaborate closely with the Chair of Medicine, hospital leadership, and System Director for Hospital Medicine.

Shift & Schedule

• Appropriate balance of administrative and clinical time.

Requirements

• Board certified in Internal or Family Medicine.
• Clinically active with leadership training/experience.
• Demonstrate ongoing excellence in team-based initiatives.
• Strong communication skills.
• Desire to mentor and teach.
