Director of Health Services

Overview

Sunrise is a large, private not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role involves overseeing the administration and coordination of medical services for these individuals to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate and oversee health services according to the individual’s plan, ensuring optimal health and wellbeing.
• Supervise nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and provide constructive feedback, training, role modeling, and mentoring.
• Create a positive team that collaborates across disciplines.
• Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Act as liaison between hospitals and other medical professionals, advocating for least restrictive measures and protection of rights.
• Perform all professional duties within the scope of licensure and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Successfully complete required pre‑employment background and drug screening.
• Valid Driver’s License with all necessary endorsements and minimum 3 years of driving experience.
• Current registered nurse license.
• Strong clinical skills with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.
