Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

We’re recruiting for a Director of FP&A to lead FP&A activities for a confidential organization in the Greater Phoenix area. This is a highly visible opportunity combining financial planning and analysis, team leadership, strategic modeling, and finance transformation.

The Finance Manager will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and executive reporting while managing a team of three analysts. The role will also partner closely with senior finance leadership on strategic initiatives and play a key role in developing more scalable finance processes through AI and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Build financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions
• Prepare financial and management reporting for senior leadership
• Lead and develop a team of three Financial Analysts
• Support strategic transaction and acquisition-related financial modeling
• Perform financial analysis around complex commercial and licensing opportunities
• Identify trends and translate financial performance into actionable insights
• Develop and standardize FP&A processes as the organization evolves
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation across planning, reporting, and analysis
• Reduce manual processes and improve the speed and scalability of finance workflows
• Partner cross-functionally with leadership on key business initiatives

Ideal Background

• Strong FP&A experience with ownership of budgeting and forecasting
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities
• Previous leadership or team-management experience
• Experience developing executive-level financial reporting
• Exposure to M&A, transactions, licensing, or other strategic financial modeling
• Demonstrated interest or experience using AI and automation within finance
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with senior leadership
