Director of Finance

We are currently recruiting for a Director of Finance for a growing and well-established Richmond-area organization.

This position will report to the CEO, act as the senior finance leader, manage a small accounting team, and serve as the liaison with the parent company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing financial analysis and decision support.
• Prepare management reporting packages, forecasts, KPI reporting, and variance analyses.
• Partner with operational leaders to monitor project performance, profitability, and financial results.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee financial planning, working capital, and cash management activities.
• Coordinate audit, tax, banking, and other external financial relationships.
• Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
• Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
• 5+ years of accounting, finance, or FP&A leadership experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with large ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Experience within project-based, construction, manufacturing, industrial, or service environments.
