About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Director of Facilities to lead all facility operations at a large multi-building campus in Front Royal, Virginia.

This role offers full operational ownership of a complex property portfolio spanning approximately 250,000-300,000 sq. ft., providing the chance to lead maintenance operations, oversee major capital projects, manage budgets, and partner directly with executive leadership on long-term facilities strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Operations & Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of maintenance and grounds professionals.
• Drive preventative maintenance programs and operational excellence across the site.
• Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems.

Physical Plant & Infrastructure Management

• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems.
• Maintain facility compliance, safety standards, and operational performance.
• Manage day-to-day physical plant operations across a multi-building campus.

Capital Projects & Vendor Management

• Lead facility upgrades, renovations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Manage external contractors and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and oversee project delivery from planning through completion.

Budget & Strategic Planning

• Manage operating budgets and facility-related expenditures.
• Partner with senior leadership to develop long-term facilities strategies.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.

Emergency Response

• Serve as the primary point of contact for facility emergencies.
• Maintain operational readiness and business continuity plans.

Requirements

• 5+ years of senior-level facilities management, physical plant operations, or multi-site property management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Strong hands-on expertise in HVAC, MEP systems, and building infrastructure.
• Industry certifications such as CFM, FMP, SMA, CEFP, BOMI, APPA, IFMA, AFE, or equivalent highly desirable.
• Proven experience managing vendors, contractors, budgets, and capital projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Compensation & Benefits
