Engineering Team LeaderThis position is to lead the Engineering team to provide dependable, on-time products to our customers that meet their needs.
Responsibilities include:Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulationsLeading management of the Engineering team to complete design work per customer orders on time and on budgetLeading all technical and managing the end-to-end launch of new productsDesign, engineering, documentation, patents, design reviews, manufacturing trials, budgets, and elimination of manufacturing glitches and productionLeading continuous process quality improvementsCreating and maintaining engineering best practicesDriving a high-quality mind-set and practices throughout the organizationDeveloping, implementing and executing the engineering business plans in alignment with the corporate-wide business planning processMaintaining compliance of all governing regulations regarding current product design portfolioPrincipal Contacts Inside/Outside The Company:This position will interact with Chief Operating Officer, Project Managers, Quality Manager, Customers, Director of Supply Chain, Buyers, Vendors, Engineering Managers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Designers, Electrical and Mechanical Detailers, Division Presidents, Estimators, Sales and Manufacturing personnel.Competency or Position Requirements:Time management skillsAbility to think and act strategically and proactivelyPast experience leading change initiatives/continuous improvementProven leadership ability to develop a strong team that can execute new product introduction and existing product upgrades, while concurrently meeting specifications, costs, and timelinesKnowledge of engineering procedures and best practices, such as DMAIC, cause & effect, lean six sigma, and statistical data analysis.Strong project management skillsSolid understanding and ability to leverage AutoCAD and Inventor toolsExtensive knowledge of manufacturing processes such as shear and press, welding, and fabrication of aluminum and stainless-steel industrial capital equipment is highly desiredWorking knowledge of MS Office software applications and useEffective communication and facilitation skillsInternational experience in Asia is a plusAny additional items as assigned by managerUnderstand, promote, train and ensure compliance of the QMS within the managed department.All Armor employees are also expected to demonstrate Armor's core values of being:Customer FocusedPassionate about WorkSolution OrientedDriven by IntegrityEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required10+ years of management experience10+ years of relevant engineering/manufacturing experienceWorking and Physical Conditions:This position will be in an office setting with time spent on the manufacturing floor.
