Director of EngineeringTech Tammina LLCJob DescriptionExperience:NOTE: Looking for local or nearby Candidateso Minimum 10 years work-related experience, 3-5 years Management experienceo Working knowledge of Lean methodologieso Has good knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), SAE, and other over-the-road vehicle standards and specifications.Communications:o Excellent verbal and written communication skillso Effective interaction with personnel at various levels within and outside the businesso Positive working attitude toward other employees; be a team playerEngineering Focus:o Develop and lead a team of engineers, designers, and technicians towards world class goals while converting specific customer requirements to robust engineering designs/packageso Provides leadership and direction such that the engineering process is developed and executed similar to a production process, driving efficiencies in cycle time/lead time reduction and defect reductiono Supports the Lean Organization while working closely with manufacturing, quality, and materials on product and process improvement initiativeso Manages the total cost of the Bill of Materialso Oversees the Development of all projects and initiatives including proposal/approval, budgeting, resourcing, milestone deliverables, reliability testing, prototype manufacturing and production launcho Liaisons with Sales and Operations Management in the evaluation of new product offeringso Drive product development through a strong understanding of the marketplace and competitive landscapeQualificationsEducation/Misc.:o 4 year Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree or Professional Engineering degrees desirableo Technical knowledge of mechanical design and material specifications.o Ability to operate a PC with Solid Works or similar softwareo Additional certifications and training in Lean, Six Sigma, or other advanced degree programs desirableo Ability to travel to other plants (North Carolina) and industry eventsAdditional InformationJob Status: Full TimeEligibility: H1B or EAD GC or GC or USC
