- Lead major capital projects from concept and feasibility through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, startup, and operational handoff.
- Manage plant expansions, production-line additions, facility upgrades, and capacity expansion projects.
- Lead the selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of new manufacturing, processing, and packaging equipment.
- Drive successful equipment and production-line startups, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production ramp-up.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, ROI analyses, and execution plans.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives focused on throughput, OEE, yield, labor efficiency, reliability, quality, waste reduction, and cost.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process optimization, equipment modernization, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and ensure successful transition of new assets into production.
- Establish engineering standards, project management processes, equipment specifications, and best practices across multiple facilities.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams and site-level engineering leaders.
- Manage relationships with equipment manufacturers, contractors, integrators, consultants, and engineering firms.
- Ensure projects and engineering activities comply with applicable food safety, OSHA, environmental, electrical, building, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop long-term engineering, facility, capacity, and capital strategies in support of business growth.
- Present capital plans, project status, financial performance, ROI, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant engineering leadership experience in food manufacturing, food processing, food packaging, consumer packaged goods, or a comparable high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing CapEx programs and large-scale capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading plant expansions, facility expansions, and production-capacity projects.
- Proven experience with equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and production ramp-up.
- Experience leading engineering organizations across multiple manufacturing or packaging sites.
