Salary Pay Range – top and bottom range and Other Compensation: $170,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering & Facilities to protect, elevate, and perfect our iconic boutique property. You won’t just fix things—you will steward a stunning architectural canvas, lead a dedicated team, and engineer the invisible infrastructure behind world-class guest experiences. From state-of-the-art HVAC systems and resort-style pools to fine-dining kitchens and custom guest villas, you will serve as the master technical strategist ensuring operational excellence and effortless elegance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hands-On Leadership: Inspire and empower the engineering team, establishing top-tier response standards, technical growth plans, and a culture of proactive care.
- Asset & System Mastery: Drive a predictive, high-tech maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, automation, life-safety systems, and custom architectural features.
- Strategic Capital Planning: Partner with executive leadership to design multiyear capital budgets, championing high-ROI upgrades, sustainability initiatives, and major physical renovations.
- High-Stakes Emergency Response: Act as the technical incident commander during critical weather events, power outages, or equipment failures, responding with calm, decisive precision.
- Project Management: Direct specialized contractors and vendors from initial concept to final punch list, enforcing rigorous standards for safety, privacy, and craftsmanship.
- Sustainability & Smart Energy: Monitor energy and water consumption, implementing cutting-edge conservation programs without ever compromising guest comfort.
- Financial & Regulatory Oversight: Oversee departmental budgets, labor efficiency, regulatory permits, and full compliance with local building, environmental, and fire codes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive engineering leadership in high-end hospitality, luxury residential, or complex commercial environments.
- Broad, deep expertise in central plant operations, building automation systems, mechanical trades, and preventive maintenance software.
- Proven track record of managing capital projects, vendor contracts, and departmental budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear executive summaries.
- EPA Universal, CPO/AFO, or relevant trade licenses preferred.
