Director of Elementary Ministry
St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Orlando, Florida.
Full‑time, exempt position reporting to the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Next Generation Ministries.
Responsibilities
- Lead the spiritual formation and discipleship of children in Grades 1–5 and their families.
- Provide leadership for Sunday and mid‑week programming, volunteer development, family engagement, Vacation Bible School, special events, and creative large‑group ministry experiences in the Treehouse ministry environment.
- Work closely with the Associate Pastor to create a seamless pathway of discipleship from Preschool through Student Ministry.
- Recruit, equip, and lead volunteers for all child‑ministry activities.
- Partner with parents as primary spiritual influencers and foster relationships with children and families.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience leading and equipping volunteers for child‑ministry programs.
- Passionate follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for discipleship.
- Creativity in ministry and commitment to engaging families and children.
- United Methodist experience helpful but not required.
