Director of Electrical Engineering & Design

A rapidly growing owner and operator of mission-critical infrastructure is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering & Design to lead the organization's electrical engineering strategy, technical standards, and design execution across a portfolio of complex data center projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design efforts for mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Provide technical direction and organizational leadership while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Collaborate closely with construction, operations, commissioning, controls, and supply chain teams
• Oversee capacity planning, UPS strategies, emergency power systems, and power system studies
• Manage external engineering consultants, architects, and design partners
• Review equipment selections, technical submittals, and engineering deliverables
• Support projects from design and construction through commissioning and turnover
• Drive departmental performance, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• PE license in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical, colocation, or data center design environments
• Demonstrated success leading technical teams and managing engineering consultants
• Strong expertise in medium and low-voltage power distribution, UPS systems, grounding, and critical electrical infrastructure
• Experience supporting high-density compute environments, including GPU and liquid-cooled deployments
• Proven leadership, project management, budgeting, and vendor management capabilities
