Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
- Manage Customer needs and communication through Pre-Award
- Manage Direct Reports as shown on Org Chart
- Identify and cultivate local project leads by developing strong relationships with decision makers of developers, local general contractors, design-build firms, and owner representatives.
- Engage in early-phase project development discussions (prior to RFP/bid stage) to position the company for negotiated opportunities or preferred subcontractor lists.
- Lead strategic relationship management efforts with GC partners and large owner/developer groups, fostering long-term repeat work.
- Drive project award from project lead to contract award by strategically leveraging decision maker relationships.
- Develop database for necessary business/contractor license requirements by state or local jurisdiction
- Create Market Intelligence Report for submission to Strategic Leadership Team on a Quarterly Basis
- Develop and implement key market strategies and lead generation for current and or future identified markets
- Full accountability for division P&L, including revenue, margin and forecast accuracy
- Ownership of backlog health, cash flow alignment and financial predictability.
- Ensure division meets or exceeds financial and operational performance targets.
- Ensure Financial performance targets are met in addition to budget adherence including but not limited to:
- Revenue Goals
- Prime cost and margin goals
- Cash Positive Position
- Safety Excellence and Performance
- Drive operational excellence and ensure that operational practices and policies are adhered to.
DIRECT
- Oversee all operational execution across the division
- Lead and manage direct reports to ensure consistent execution across all projects.
- Enforce standard operating practices across the business line.
- Intervene in high-risk projects, including financial underperformance, schedule delays, client issues, claims and disputes.
- Ensure development and implementation of project specific Strategic plan on every project.
- Training and development of direct reports
- Ensure timely execution of employee reviews
- Disciplinary action & discharges of employees with HR guidance and approval
- Collaborate with HR Manager on all employee problems, complaints and or issues
- Responsible for growing existing customer relationships at the decision maker level and cultivating new decision maker client relationships on a state level.
- Act as a liaison between business line and pre-award as it relates to leads and opportunities.

- Maintain relationships with all team members
- Identify and recognize team members that live our Purpose, Mission, Values and Vision.
- Hire and Develop Staff for the division in relative responsibility roles. Provide leadership as required.
- Attend all Forecasting meeting and provide bidding decision making
- Perform Employee Annual Reviews for direct reports
- Act as a Mentor to staff members throughout the organization
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction with regard to market, client and owner pursuit on a local /state level.
- Develop relationships with decision makers of customers, subcontractors and local inspectors in order foster a collaborative environment with client organizations. (Collaborate with Client) on a local/state level.
- Provide strategic path for the advancement and growth of the Construction Services Division
- Guide initiatives and develop contact with prospective client decision makers to improve overall customer base
- Provide strategic direction for both market growth and operational execution within the business line.
- Lead, develop and structure the division team including Operations Managers, managers and project staff.
- Drive workforce planning, staffing strategy, and succession planning.
- Drive use of in-house planning and tracking tools including Work Packages, 10-5-2-1 etc.
- Ensure alignment with company culture, mission and core values.
- Ensure alignment between Preconstruction, Operations, Finance and HR.
- Ensure contract and execution risks are proactively managed across the business line.
- Develop, mentor and retain high performing team members
- Develop, mentor, and retain high-performing regional and divisional leaders.
- Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and respect.
- Partner with HR and Training to build leadership succession plans and workforce development pipelines.
- Maintain awareness and strategic proactivity as it relates cultivating a positive morale for the team
- Maintain an awareness of, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Lead by example in demonstrating our values and supporting a “One Company” mindset.
- Lead the our Strategic Team to create deep relationships with top leadership

Compensation:
We pay hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work environment:
The Director of Commercial Construction will typically work in an office environment, although they may occasionally visit worksites to observe a project or to meet with clients. Travel up to 25% (mostly locale/state)
