Position Summary
The Director of Education provides leadership and oversight for academic operations, instructional quality, curriculum development, faculty performance, student success initiatives, and regulatory compliance. This individual serves as a key member of the campus leadership team and works closely with faculty, student services, admissions, and career services to ensure exceptional educational outcomes.
Schedule Requirement
Must be flexible with shift hours due to position responsibilities, including a minimum of two evenings per week, with additional hours as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of academic programs, curriculum, instructional staff, and educational operations
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate faculty members
- Ensure curriculum and instructional delivery meet institutional, industry, accreditation, and regulatory standards
- Oversee curriculum enhancements, program updates, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, retention, graduation, and satisfaction metrics
- Lead student success and retention efforts, including intervention planning and academic recovery initiatives
- Collaborate with Admissions, Student Services, Career Services, and academic leadership to support student outcomes
- Oversee academic policies related to grading, attendance, satisfactory academic progress, academic standing, and student conduct
- Manage instructional schedules, staffing plans, classroom utilization, and faculty coverage
- Support accreditation activities, audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting
- Analyze academic and student performance data to identify trends and improve outcomes
- Participate in student engagement activities, orientations, graduations, recognition events, and advisory committee meetings
- Represent the institution within the academic and professional community
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree, post-secondary diploma/certificate equivalent, or higher
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
- Knowledge of academic policies, instructional best practices, and student progress monitoring
- Experience supporting accreditation, compliance, or regulatory requirements
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience within career-focused, technical, vocational, workforce development, or trade school education
- Curriculum design and program development experience
- Experience supporting accreditation reviews, audits, or institutional compliance initiatives
