DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Full Time/Part Time Regular Full Time Total Hours Per Week 35 From Salary $80,000 To Salary $80,000

Job Summary:

The Director of Educational provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for educational and youth development services within the Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) Program. The Director ensures the implementation of the EFFC educational model by promoting educational stability, academic achievement, youth development, and successful transitions to adulthood. This position oversees program operations, staff supervision, compliance, and service quality while ensuring services aligned with DOE, FERPA Fair Futures, and agency standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and management of Education and Youth Services programs, including Fair Futures, PYA, and educational support services.
  • Supervise Educational Specialists, Supervisors, Coaches, and assigned staff.
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate training, coaching, and professional development.
  • Ensuring uploading all PEX Processing for educational department
  • Monitor youth goals, academic performance, employment readiness, and service outcomes.
  • Ensure all required educational documentation, case activities, and program records are completed accurately and timely in CARE4, Connections, and other required systems.
  • Ensure educational updates are documented in Connections and that report cards, academic records, and educational information are obtained, reviewed, and distributed to the Case Planning Team in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with ACS, OCFS, Fair Futures, DOE, FERPA, and agency internal policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with agency leadership to develop, improve, and evaluate program performance and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, employers, workforce development programs, internship providers, and community organizations.
  • Oversee educational advocacy services, including school enrollment, attendance, academic progress, tutoring, special education services, and post-secondary planning.
  • Ensure timely referrals, evaluations, and follow-up for Early Intervention, CPSE/CSE services, IEP implementation, and other educational supports.
  • Oversee tutoring services, Summer Rising participation, career exploration, employment opportunities, and workforce development activities.
  • Address and resolve educational and youth service concerns identified by schools, caregivers, staff, service providers, or other stakeholders.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with ACS, OCFS, the Department of Education, community partners, and other service providers.
  • Prepare, review, and submit required reports, data, and program outcomes within established timelines.
  • Ensure continuity of services during staff absences, vacancies, and emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by agency leadership.
  • Other duties are assigned by AVP Case planning and Youth Services.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in education, or related field, significant experience alternate master’s required.
  • Preferred with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of Social Work, some of which must be in the field of Child Welfare.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is required

  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The role includes field-based work, including attending school and community settings
