What we’re looking for
A profitable, self-funded US-based DTC craft brand that has helped over one million people learn to crochet since 2020 is looking for a Director of E-commerce . With no investors and a lean, fully remote team, this company moves fast, ships often, and is building toward becoming an iconic, obsession-worthy brand. This is a rare chance to fully own the e-commerce engine of a nine-figure business with zero red tape.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own site conversion rate as your north star, balancing it against AOV, margin, and customer experience.
- Lead site merchandising end to end, deciding how products show up across landing pages, navigation, collections, PDPs, promotions, and launch moments.
- Build and execute testing roadmaps, using quantitative and qualitative insights (session recordings, experiments, customer feedback, purchase data) to remove whatever is preventing more people from buying.
- Manage the Shopify roadmap, including feature builds, site maintenance, customer account experience, and SEO.
- Partner with Acquisition, Brand, Retention, Product, and Ops, using customer behavior and sales data to influence launch quantities, promotional calendars, and merchandising priorities.
- Lead an in-house Shopify developer plus agencies and freelancers, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing.
Requirements
- E-commerce leadership experience, ideally at a nine-figure DTC brand.
- A true doer mentality. You can personally execute and diagnose problems without a large support team, not just direct one.
- Deep CRO expertise. You know whether a conversion problem comes from the offer, positioning, merchandising, UX friction, site speed, traffic quality, or technical limitations, and how to fix it.
- A merchant's mindset. You know when to push hero products, simplify choice, or introduce promotions to maximize both customer value and business results.
- Low ego, high standards. You give and take feedback with equal grace and thrive with lots of autonomy and ambiguity.
Nice to Have
- Strong Manager-level candidates with a track record that suggests they can grow into director-level ownership will also be considered.
