Play Like a Champion Today seeks its first Director of Development to grow philanthropic support for programs that expand access to quality youth sports in targeted, under-resourced communities.
An independent nonprofit with historical ties to the University of Notre Dame, Play Like a Champion Today works with schools, sports organizations, and community leaders to ensure every child can experience the joy and developmental benefits of sport. Through A Team for Every Child, it helps local partners strengthen programs and create sustainable opportunities for children to participate.
Reporting to the Executive Director and serving on the Leadership Team, the Director will build on more than 500 past donors and established partnerships to develop a sustainable fundraising program. Responsibilities include cultivating and soliciting donors, growing major giving, securing foundation and corporate support, strengthening the case for support, and establishing effective development systems.
The ideal candidate brings progressively responsible fundraising or comparable relationship-based revenue experience, typically five to seven years, demonstrated success securing five-figure or larger commitments, and experience building or strengthening a development program. Strong communication skills and the ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution are essential.
