Remote Full Time Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
About the Role

Join InfinityRx as Director of Data Engineering in a pivotal executive-level leadership role designed to transform how integrated healthcare data—spanning both pharmacy and medical claims—is ingested, analyzed, and commercialized. Powering our growth is the InfinityRx Claims Processor™ (ICP)—our next-generation, cloud-based claims engine built for total healthcare transparency.

We are seeking a seasoned data leader to take end-to-end ownership of all InfinityRx client data across both the pharmacy (PBM) and medical billing ecosystems. In this high-visibility position, you will architect our enterprise reporting engine, enforce strict data governance, and build a high-performing data engineering team that delivers world-class insights to our clients—from real-time operational feeds to strategic Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Data Ownership & Strategy: Define and execute the overarching client data strategy. Take complete accountability for the full lifecycle, integrity, and presentation of all pharmacy and medical claims data processed by InfinityRx.
  • Dual Claims Pipeline Architecture: Design, scale, and maintain secure pipelines that seamlessly process both retail/specialty pharmacy claims and institutional/professional medical claims (EDI 837/835).
  • Enterprise Reporting & Analytics: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all customer-facing analytics, including daily operational feeds, monthly deep-dives, and C-suite executive QBR presentations across medical and pharmacy business lines.
  • Power BI & Visual Architecture: Set technical standards for our BI ecosystem. Lead enterprise Power BI deployments, complex DAX data modeling, and semantic layers to render complex medical billing and prescription data into intuitive executive dashboards.
  • Healthcare Data Governance & Compliance: Implement rigorous automated validation checks to ensure 100% data quality, financial precision, and absolute HIPAA/HITECH compliance across all client touchpoints.
  • Industry Standards Integration: Manage and harmonize industry-specific data standards, including NCPDP Telecommunication Standards for pharmacy claims and X12 EDI standards (837I/P, 835, 270/271) for medical billing and claims adjudication.
  • Executive Partnership & Team Building: Build, scale, and mentor a team of high-performing data engineers and BI developers while partnering directly with C-suite executives and client account leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Domain Expertise (Mandatory): 8+ years of dedicated Data Engineering/Data Architecture experience with mandatory, deep domain expertise handling both pharmacy claims and medical claims/billing datasets (e.g., PBM operations, NCPDP, EDI 837/835, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding, EMR/EHR, or medical claims adjudication).
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role (Lead Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Engineering Manager) overseeing data strategy and engineering teams.
  • Technical Stack Mastery: Expert-level mastery of SQL, Python, enterprise data modeling (Kimball/Inmon), and automated ETL/ELT pipeline orchestration.
  • Power BI Architecture: Deep technical command of Power BI enterprise deployments, advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and scalable data architecture for external client reporting.
  • Regulatory Command: Deep operational understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare privacy/security requirements for PHI/PII handling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Standards Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience unifying NCPDP formats with X12 medical billing EDI transactions into cohesive reporting models.
  • Cloud Data Warehousing: Architecture experience within Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Azure SQL Data Warehouse).
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 (In compliance with Pay Transparency standards).
  • Flexible Work Model: Fully Remote or Hybrid work options available.
  • Executive Visibility: Direct control over core client deliverables, product architecture, and data strategy.
  • Growth Trajectory: Direct line to VP-level leadership as our data organization expands.
  • Equipment: High-performance company-provided laptop and workstation stipend.
