Director of Civil Engineering Operations

We are seeking a senior civil engineering leader with deep expertise in CEI and FDOT standards to oversee large-scale transportation projects across Florida. This individual will drive operational excellence, manage teams, and expand market presence.

Location

Must be able to be on site in either Orlando, FL (some travel to West of Tampa and Fort Meyers)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead CEI operations across Florida
• Mentor engineering and inspection teams
• Oversee transportation projects (roads, bridges, transit)
• Ensure compliance, safety, and budget adherence
• Develop client relationships and business opportunities
• Implement best practices and performance improvements
• Lead staffing and professional development
• Collaborate on strategic growth initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field
• 15+ years industry experience
• Extensive FDOT project experience
• Strong leadership and project management
• Deep CEI and infrastructure knowledge
• Strong communication and client management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PE license
• Experience in CEI leadership roles
• FDOT program management
• Industry organization involvement
• Proven business growth experience
