Director of Business Development

We are conducting a confidential search for a Director of Business Development & Marketing for a well-established, growing specialty contractor.

This executive-level role will lead the company’s business development, growth strategy, client relationships, and marketing efforts , working directly with ownership and executive leadership to expand into new markets and strengthen existing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute company-wide business development and growth strategies.
• Identify new clients, markets, partnerships, and project opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and industry partners.
• Lead opportunity qualification, pursuit strategy, and go/no-go decisions.
• Partner with operations and estimating to align opportunities with company capabilities.
• Manage and improve CRM, pipeline forecasting, and business development reporting.
• Oversee marketing, branding, digital presence, proposals, and industry outreach.
• Lead and develop the Business Development and Marketing team.
• Provide executive leadership with market intelligence, pipeline visibility, and growth recommendations.

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of progressive business development, marketing, or growth leadership experience.
• Construction, electrical, mechanical, industrial, engineering, or related project-based industry experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and generate profitable new business.
• Experience leading teams and working directly with executive leadership.
• Strong understanding of CRM systems, pipeline management, and data-driven business development.
