Description
The Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin andDell Children's Medical Center (DCMC) is seeking a full-timepediatric cardiologist to serve as Medical Director of AdvancedCardiac Imaging to support our rapidly growing team within theTexas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease (TCPCHD).Extensive experience and expertise in axial imaging (Cardiac MRIand CT) is specifically desired for this role. Multidisciplinaryand cross-departmental opportunities for clinical investigation,research, and program building are available and stronglyencouraged.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptionalpatient care, leadership, and innovation alongside our team ofcardiologists and advanced practice providers. Although patientcare is our primary focus, education and research are alsoencouraged and supported with access to dedicated researchprofessionals including a statistician, research manager, andresearch coordinators. Our practice is located in central Austin,providing inpatient and outpatient support for all of central Texasand beyond.
The position encompasses responsibilities in patient care,administration, program development and growth, team building,safety, quality and access for imaging services. This position willwork with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and the leadership ofthe TCPCHD to execute on yearly personal and programmatic goalsfocused on the fundamentals of extraordinary care. Closecollaboration with the Department of Radiology and variousdepartments from UT Health and The University of Texas at Austinare expected and supported. Routine patient care will include:Outpatient clinic, inpatient consultation, supervision of advancedpractice providers, and hospital service.
Qualifications
- Interested individuals should be board-certified in PediatricCardiology and able to obtain an unrestricted Texas MedicalLicense.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in thefield, specifically in the area of Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT, andassociated imaging modalities
- Preference will be given to those with experience at highervolume centers and demonstrated leadership roles in advancedimaging.
- Additional preference will be given to those with previousexperience or education in medical administration and those whohave clinical research experience.
- Eligible for faculty appointment at The University of Texas atAustin.
