Director of Actuarial ServicesThis individual will lead the day-to-day operations, technical execution, and strategic direction of the actuarial function at Olympus Insurance. This role serves as a key leader within the organization, overseeing actuarial staff, guiding complex analytical initiatives, and partnering with executive leadership to drive business strategy and operational excellence. You'll lead projects involving pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, catastrophe analysis, and advanced analytics while helping shape the future of the actuarial department and supporting long-term organizational growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop actuarial staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team cultureOversee departmental workflow, project prioritization, and deliverable timelinesReview and approve actuarial analyses, models, assumptions, methodologies, and reporting prepared by team membersLead actuarial initiatives related to pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, and advanced analyticsDevelop and enhance actuarial tools, operational processes, and reporting capabilitiesSupport executive leadership with profitability studies, forecasting, catastrophe exposure analysis, and reinsurance initiativesConduct and oversee competitor analysis, underwriting research, and risk segmentation studiesSupport regulatory rate filings and collaborate with vendors, consultants, and regulators as neededPresent actuarial findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholdersEnsure compliance with actuarial standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controlsChampion innovation through advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-assisted actuarial solutionsAssist with departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocationSupport business operations during catastrophic events as neededWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related fieldACAS designation required; FCAS strongly preferred6–8+ years of actuarial experience within Property & Casualty insurancePrior leadership or management experience overseeing actuarial or analytical teams preferredAdvanced expertise in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, and actuarial analyticsAdvanced SQL and strong proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office productsExperience with Python, R, or similar programming languagesExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization toolsStrong leadership, mentoring, and strategic problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insightsStrong understanding of Florida residential insurance and regulatory processes preferredExperience with catastrophe modeling platforms such as Verisk/AIR, RMS, or KCC preferredFamiliarity with GIS platforms, machine learning, and AI-assisted analytics is a plus
