NASCAR is seeking a high-performing Director, National Sales to lead new business development efforts, secure transformational brand partnerships, and drive measurable revenue growth across our national sponsorship portfolio. This role is designed for a strategic seller who combines creativity, business acumen, and consultative selling expertise to build integrated marketing partnerships for leading national brands. Leveraging NASCAR's powerful media, digital, experiential, hospitality, event, and intellectual property assets, the Director will create innovative sponsorship solutions that connect partners with one of the most passionate fan bases in sports. This position may be based in any NASCAR office location, with preference given to candidates residing in major metropolitan markets to support partner engagement and business development activities.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and secure new national marketing partnerships with leading brands to drive revenue growth and support NASCAR's long-term business objectives.
- Build, manage, and advance a robust sales pipeline through strategic prospecting, relationship development, and targeted business development initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate partner business objectives, marketing strategies, consumer insights, and category trends to create compelling sponsorship solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Design and present integrated partnership programs leveraging NASCAR's assets across events, media, digital, social, experiential marketing, hospitality, licensing, and promotional platforms.
- Cultivate relationships with senior-level decision makers, including CMOs, VPs, and brand executives, to develop meaningful, long‑term partnerships.
- Lead the development of persuasive sales presentations, business cases, and sponsorship proposals that align brand objectives with NASCAR's marketing and fan engagement platforms.
- Negotiate complex partnership agreements while navigating legal, financial, operational, and strategic considerations to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Partnership Marketing, Events, Media, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful activation, retention, and growth of partner relationships.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity to identify new business opportunities and strengthen NASCAR's position within the sports and entertainment landscape.
- Represent NASCAR at industry conferences, client meetings, race events, and networking opportunities to expand brand visibility and generate new partnership opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of success in sponsorship sales, corporate partnerships, business development, media sales, sports marketing, or entertainment sales.
- Proven track record of developing and closing high‑value partnership agreements while consistently exceeding revenue goals.
- Experience selling integrated marketing, sponsorship, media, experiential, hospitality, and promotional platforms to national brands.
- Strong understanding of the corporate partnership sales cycle, including prospecting, needs analysis, proposal development, negotiation, and account transition.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, storytelling, and relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence senior‑level stakeholders and executive decision makers.
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities, including the ability to translate business objectives into innovative marketing solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities, sales opportunities, and deadlines.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, self‑motivation, curiosity, and a passion for building meaningful partnerships that drive business results.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and business productivity tools.
- Ability to travel up to 15%, including race events, client meetings, industry conferences, and other business‑related activities as needed.
