Job Description You will lead the mechanical engineering team in San Francisco, overseeing the development of complex electromechanical systems including the flagship Pod and brand-new hardware. Reporting to the CPO, you will balance high-level system architecture with team leadership to deliver products that transform human recovery through data-driven sleep technology.

What You Will Do

• Direct the mechanical engineering lifecycle, managing teams of ME, soft goods, and test engineers to ensure flawless execution from concept to production.
• Architect complex electromechanical systems, making critical technical trade-offs across fluids, mechanisms, and sensor integration for the flagship Pod and new products.
• Collaborate directly with the CPO and executive team to define the hardware roadmap and scale manufacturing through frequent travel to partners in China.

The ideal candidate

• Requires 10 years of experience developing complex electromechanical consumer electronics or medical devices with a track record of high-volume launches in Asia.
• Must have 2 years of direct management experience or proven success as a technical lead ready to step into a player-coach leadership role.
• Demonstrates deep technical proficiency in injection molding, DFM/DFA, and tolerance analysis, with additional expertise in thermal or fluid systems highly preferred.
