About This Role

The Director of the Magnet Program collaborates with nursing leadership to attain and maintain Magnet designation, ensuring that materials and projects are developed and implemented within appropriate time frames.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the attainment of subsequent recertification.
  • Develop and lead multidisciplinary teams to execute the strategic plan.
  • Maintain systems for tracking and evaluating; perform analysis to establish baseline measurements.
  • Identify gaps and collaborate with nursing leadership to formulate plans to eliminate deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff nurses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish timelines for each step of the Magnet designation and redesignation process.
  • Ensure data collection and analysis related to designation.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical department heads for effective communication.
  • Ensure fluency and clarity of all developed content.
  • Ensure consistency in presentation of written materials and standardized content.

Requirements

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required; Bachelor's or Master's must be in Nursing.

Experience:

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of leadership/management experience required.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut required.
  • Specialized certifications as needed.
