Director Labor Relations

A well-established healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Assistant Director, Employee and Labor Relations. This is a senior-level role for an experienced ER/LR professional who can provide strategic guidance to leadership while managing complex employee and labor relations matters.

What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership, counsel, and direction to the Employee & Labor Relations team
• Advise senior leadership on complex employee and labor relations matters
• Interpret collective bargaining agreements, policies, and employment practices
• Oversee employee conflicts, performance management, discipline, coaching, grievances, and arbitrations
• Lead complex and highly confidential workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, CBA violations, and other sensitive matters
• Participate in collective bargaining and contract negotiations
• Develop and facilitate leadership workshops and training
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment and labor laws
• Partner with organizational leaders to address personnel and operational challenges
• Identify systemic performance issues and develop strategies for resolution
• Support the development and implementation of ER/LR policies, procedures, and best practices

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field
• 6+ years of Employee & Labor Relations experience
• 4+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws
• Experience with grievances, arbitrations, investigations, and collective bargaining
• Unionized and/or healthcare experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, presentation, conflict resolution, and consultative skills
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgment
