The Director of FSQA Risk Management leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Pizza Hut’s global Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) systems and processes. This role is responsible for strengthening food safety culture, advancing FSQ strategy, and ensuring consistent execution across restaurants, supply chain, and global markets.
FSQ Strategy & Governance
- Define and lead the global Food Safety & Quality risk management program strategies, ensuring alignment across all Pizza Hut markets and business units
- Establish and formalize Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) across restaurant and supply chain operations, aligned to corporate governance and global standards
- Drive integration of FSQ programs into broader business unit goals and enterprise priorities
- Lead the management of the Global Document Management system to ensure all FSQA governance and process documents are accurate and up to date
- Develop and execute a global FSQ communication strategy to ensure alignment, clarity, and consistency across teams and regions.
Systems, Data & Technology
- Lead FSQ systems strategy in partnership with Enterprise Technology, COE Leads and external partners to enable integration, scalability, and effective data management
- Oversee data ecosystem including audit platforms, RSCS systems, GFSI databases, HutBot, and other sources to ensure accuracy, connectivity, and usability
- Drive visibility and reporting of key FSQ KPIs to enable risk identification and data-driven decision making across the enterprise
Program Leadership & Execution
- Working with the Center of Excellence Leaders, ensure global implementation of FSQ management systems, ensuring consistent and effective end-to-end quality processes
- Oversee regulatory and nutrition programs, including compliance with global and local requirements and administration of programs such as the U.S. School Lunch Program
- Manage third party regulatory and nutritional consultants.
Communication & Capability Building
- Build capability across franchisees and internal teams through structured training, tools, and ongoing engagement
- Strengthen team effectiveness by setting clear expectations, improving communication, and enabling execution across functions
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to deliver against FSQ goals and KPIs
- Monitor performance against targets, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions
- Lead crisis management efforts and partner cross-functionally to resolve complex food safety and quality issues
- Champion a strong food safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree required: Food Science, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or related field within a multinational food or QSR environment
- Deep expertise in Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), HACCP, GFSI-recognized standards, supplier quality assurance, food regulations, and crisis/incident management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across complex and geographically diverse environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, interpret technical data, and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success managing audits, regulatory inspections, corrective action programs, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong crisis management capabilities, including rapid decision-making, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation.
Salary Range: $164,500 - $193,600 annually + bonus eligibility and stock-based compensation. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
