QTS Data Centers is seeking a Director of Development (Data Center Construction) to oversee customer deployment projects across all locations, acting as the primary liaison between the Sales, Operations, Property Development, and customer teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location.
- Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team and supporting specialty consultants to support customers’ design needs, pricing, approvals, and implementation of specific deployment scopes.
- Manage the delivery of these projects, aligning clients’ objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross‑group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization.
- Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget.
- Serve as a single contact for federal sales support on potential secured deals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture.
- Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in the development of mission critical facilities.
- Five or more years of responsibility for data center project construction with large‑scale data centers or DC lease providers.
- Ability to travel as needed for the business.
Key Skills
- Experience managing multiple large, multi‑faceted projects.
- Experience with Construction Health & Safety knowledge.
- Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment; RCDD a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff.
- Ability to influence cross‑discipline teams.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high‑growth company.
