What You'll Do



  • Lead the execution of new stores, remodels, and strategic initiatives with a focus on speed, quality, and long-term business impact.

  • Create and manage budgets aligned with project timelines and develop work specifications that support operational needs and budget requirements.

  • Prepare bid summaries for new stores and remodels for review by leadership.

  • Review, approve and log all invoicing related to construction items, working closely with accounts payable to ensure projects are within budgets.

  • Forecast and advise if budgets are at risk of overruns.

  • Monitor project progress, construction and development schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and aligned with company goals.

  • Inspect on-site work periodically to ensure accuracy of reports, resolve disputes or problems, and maintain consistency in construction standards.

  • Document all required agreements and notices, and prepare and issue standard contracts for General Contractors, Architects and other consultants.

  • Review lease agreements and assist the Real Estate, Lease Administration, and Facilities departments with construction-related items.

  • Participate in Real Estate Pipeline meetings and present timing and budgetary forecasting for new and existing store projects.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure timely provision of materials and negotiate pricing.

  • Review contractors’ insurance certificates for conformance with company and contract requirements.

  • Perform plan checks on all Construction Documents and ensure coordination between site‑specific fixture floor plans, prototype plans and job‑specific documents.

  • Ensure that all contractual materials, contracts and change orders are executed and properly coded with project numbers.

  • Supervise Construction Project Manager and Architectural Design teams, providing clear expectations and timely performance feedback.

  • This role is open to remote candidates; preference for individuals based in or near the CA Bay Area.



Experience & Skills



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Construction Management or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree).

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing a construction team in a multi-unit retail environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize, and follow through to ensure timely results.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Experience with project bidding, negotiations, budgeting, planning, and project management.



Compensation


Salary Range: $175,000 – $220,000 annually
